Product Information

Angie Belcher is a mother, writer and part-time teacher who is a self-confessed adrenaline addict. An ex-skydiver, keen scuba diver and cave crawler, Angie draws on these spine-tingling experiences to enrich her writing. Many of her children's books draw upon New Zealand's adventure pursuits as a main theme. She says, 'I have a passion for children and for adventure. Writing is the medium I use to bring them together. I want to show children that life can be really exciting. They just have to switch off the television, go outside and live it!' Denise Durkin has worked as an illustrator and designer since graduating from Wellington Polytechnic Design School in 1989. She uses watercolours for very realistic illustrations, mostly animals, insects and on occasion, flowers and food. After five years as a graphic designer for the Dominion Newspaper she returned to freelance illustration, which is her first love.
